I'll write...The coffee house is a new establishment, and pretty cool. Ok that's stupid. It's...neato. Wait - supercoffeerific. Ok I give up. I actually tilted the screen sideways so neither he nor I could see it. I'm that paranoid that what I write about, is total shit.
But...I digress. On to my point:
Ok, so this establishment used to be Ace video of all things. It's much better off as a coffee house. And that's just the name..."The Coffee House". Pretty innovative eh? EH? Aside from not having my most favorite reading material: the Pittsburgh City Paper available for me, (which may arrive in the future as I'm told) it's the perfect place to go to chill out if you're in the Moon area. Being a Las Vegas resident for almost a decade does not make me baby buddah, but it does take a bit to impress me, and it also give me a different perspective on things. It also doesn't hurt being born and raised here in Pittsburgh. Don't take my word for it, but here's why I like The Coffee House:
Great coffee: They support the local coffee establishments by brewing, for example, Kiva Han out of Cranberry Township. Pretty good, I'd say. For me to switch from Starblinks, n'nat...and their cappucino's are always made well.
Great food: So far I've had their quiche, and a few of their soups & other items. All great stuff.
Homey atmosphere: It almost looks like someone's living room, only really large with a deepened wall color of dark red. With a stage. And a bunch of cute tables scattered everywhere. Annnd.. maybe an abundance of plush burgundy kushy chairs to sit in. Oh and a kitchen and coffee bar. Don't forget the paintings and curio cabinets.
They support local businesses: They have local everything; there's a local baker that bakes all the goodies in the morning, and brings them in when they are nice and hot and fresh late in the morning. Another local makes homemade greeting cards and leaves them at the counter to sell...and they're so cute! Little touches like that make it unique. One thing that would be really fantastic is if they had a different artist every week display their artwork on the walls. Neato if you ask me. And would also go with the whole local motife type thing.
They Rock. Literally: Not only do they bring in bands and singers here and there on the weekends, but every Monday and Thursday night is open mic night. Get up there and do your thang!!
FREE INTERNET! Starbucks used to be my place to recharge, but I really only go there when I'm pressed for time (drive through). Besides, who wants to pay money to get on the internet when it only costs the owner a small chunk of cash? It's not only a great way to bring in customers, but it just a nice gesture to provide your customers with that service. That's the main reason I come here, besides of course, the good coffee and great customer service. Just steer clear around 2:15 when the kids get out of high school.
